APS’s Research and Development programme centres on the development of novel ‘biological control agents’, meeting growing demands by governments, industry and the public for more environmentally-acceptable methods of pest and disease control. The company’s technologies include:
The development of bacteriophage as novel antibacterial agents in disease and pest management, with current projects including slug management (with the Scottish Agricultural College) and agriculture/horticulture (in collaboration with the University of Strathclyde)
The development and application of natural-plant products for arthropod pest management
